Wildsee
The Wildsee between Reith and Seefeld has probably been around as long as the mountains themselves. The small settlement "Sevelt" (Feld am See) was first mentioned in a document in 1022. The area around the Wildsee was already known for its lush flora and fauna in the time of Emperor Maximilian I. A species of fish that settled there at the time made the Wildsee popularly known as "Lampretensee". However, commercial use of the lake was limited to a few decades - today this natural gem is protected and fishing is prohibited.
Ideal walk for the whole family
An idyllic circular hiking trail leads through the nature reserve and invites visitors to experience the countless secrets up close with descriptive information boards. The wide paths are also ideal for baby carriages and it is not uncommon to see many lively squirrels that have found a home in the wooded areas around the Wildsee.
Bathing & Kneipp
During the hot summer months, two lido facilities offer refreshing refreshment. The Seerestaurant Strandperle has excellent cuisine and offers plenty of variety with pedal boat, rowing boat and SUP hire as well as its own playground and beach volleyball court. At Waldbad Sonja, things are comparatively more relaxed and those seeking peace and quiet will feel particularly at home here. The freely accessible, spacious Kneipp facility also offers a slightly different kind of refreshment. Numerous benches around the lake invite you to linger and relax.
*Bathing with a dog
At Wildsee in Seefeld, swimming with dogs is permitted without restriction wherever there is free access to the lake, with the exception of the Sonja forest bathing area. The Strandperle lido has its own area (to the right of the jetty) where you can lie with your dog and of course go into the lake.
*Stand-up paddling
Whether just for fun or as a holistic physical workout - stand-up paddling (SUP) creates the ideal balance between sport and relaxation in the middle of the nature reserve. SUP boards can be hired or lessons can be booked at the Strandperle outdoor pool.
